My services, fees and contact information:
- I offer a free Consultation Meeting where you and your partner can meet me and we can talk and get to know each other and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
- I offer 2 Prenatal Meetings: Getting to know you, getting a feel for what type of birth experience you're looking for. To meet and support your partner in their birth experience and to follow how you are doing.
- During the 1st prenatal visit we
will put together a birth plan, discussing a range of issues and develop a personalized "birth plan" that is exactly right for you, no matter what kind of birth you would like. I explain every aspect of the birth process so that you can be completely comfortable and strong with your decisions. Then I do a totally body relaxation practice followed by a massage.
- The 2nd Prenatal we, with your partner will practice positions and breathing. Practice makes perfect! If you want a natural birth then this practice is for you! I will teach you some fantastic things that will make your labor, easier, happier and more successful. You will learn what you need to give birth naturally. Then we will do the total body relaxation followed by a massage as well. The massages are awesome! And you deserve it!
- From 38 weeks to 42 weeks I will be on-call, 24 hours a day via telephone, e-mail and text messaging, providing you with emotional support throughout the pregnancy and postpartum period. I am here for you. If you have any questions or just need someone to talk to. Its helpful to have someone to ask about changes that are happening to your body, and that is what I am here for.
- When labor begins, I will come to you and I never leave you until your baby is breastfeeding or up to 2 hours after your birth.
- I act as a mediator between you and the hospital staff, I have almost 10 years experience so if you feel you need help with the hospital staff, standing up or ensuring your rights I can be there for you in any way.
- I comfort, coach and empower you and your partner during birth and providing you non stop one on one care.
- I provide intense coaching in your home before you go to the hospital, and after you get to the hospital.
- During delivery, I am in constant, close proximity to you at all times. I will provide you comfort with pain relief techniques, such as breathing, relaxing, massage and laboring positions.
- I record your labor and birth birth minute by minute, and give it to you after your baby is born. You would be surprised at what you forget!
- I will video tape and take pictures of your birth if you like, these are priceless, I will record your babies first cry, I follow your baby to the warmer and continue to film him/her as they are being evaluated after delivery.
- I encourage participation from your partner and offer reassurance. A Doula acts as an advocate for the mother, encouraging her desires for her birth. The goal of a Doula is to help the mother have a positive and safe birth experience, whether the mother wants a natural birth, medicated birth, at or in home birth or cesarean birth.
- After the birth, I will spend time helping you begin the breastfeeding process and encouraging bonding between the new baby and family members.
- I will also provide a birth record or story about your birth a few weeks after the birth and a gift to remember me by.
- Full package described above is $500. I do offer payment plans. I include your pictures and videos on a memory card and a birth ball.
- Anything less can be negotiated by giving me a call. I would LOVE to meet you and your baby!
- I believe EVERY woman needs a Doula, if you cannot afford my services, or you have NO labor support from anyone and are going to labor alone, please do not hesitate to call me and I will work with you.
